Kids Corner

When you are in the grasps of your hormones it takes all your energy to get through the day.  Throw kids into the mix and it can be exhausting.  I found that having an activity box fully stocked is a great help.

If i'm having a very bad day I can get them to go to the craft box and find a fun activity to do, whether they do it together or on their own.  It means I can sit at the table with a cup of tea knowing that they are happy and entertained.

I found the website Activity village a god send.  They have printable images to colour in, puzzles, craft ideas, jigsaws and lots of other activities that keep kids happy for hours.  Here are just a few that I find have worked but you should visit the website for lots more ideas.

For educational games and activities I love to visit Kidsfront. They have lots of printable and downloadable activities that give kids hours of fun while helping them with Maths and English.  I use it for my toddler who is 3 and she loves the activities.  You can print them out so it keeps them entertained and keeps your stress levels down.

A great site to visit is Crayola.  Not only do they have the usual colouring pages section, they also have a craft section as well as ideas for outdoor activities.  I love this aspect of the site as it gives the kids chance to get out in the fresh air, but you going with them also means the fresh air can make you feel better.  I know a bit of sunshire always puts a smile on my face.

If you want to get the kids using their imagination and playing together then you should visit Kidsguide. I have found that not all the ideas on here are suitable for my children but they have given me extra ideas of things to do.  Well worth a nosey round.

A site that I love for craft ideas is Momsandkids.  The ideas on here can be made of things that you probably have lying around the house.  I also love it as it takes me back to my childhood and I find myself saying, "Mummy used to make these when she was your age".  A lovely site.

A site that I use for many many things is Netmums.  They have a great activity section with lots of ideas and things to do and the great thing is that most of the ideas have been tested by mums.

I'm always looking for new ideas and things to do so I love being able to update this page when i find something new so I can share it with everyone.  Having these sites in mind makes doing things with the kids so much easier when hormones are determined to zap my energy and enthusiasm.

Hope you all enjoy and feel free to let me know if you find any great sites that you would like to share with others.
